It looks as if the stock market has seen better days and the Airlines have been one industry that has been severely hammered as their stock prices tanked. Of course, over the last two-years airlines have seen quite a bit of turbulence with the high-price of fuel. Many industry analysts believe that there will soon be two or more high-profile bankruptcies. In fact, whereas they are naming names, I am not.
Many airlines are currently working with credit card companies and their frequent flyer miles are actually part of a program and a cooperation plan. The credit card company may be left holding the bag if the airline files for bankruptcy. That means your frequent flyer miles or at least some of them may be transferred to other airlines or all of your frequent flyer miles will be deleted if that company goes out of business and there is no cooperation agreement.
